The Conference on Language and Technology 16 (CLT16) is the sixth in a series of biennial CLT conferences organized by Society for Natural Language Processing (SNLP), Pakistan. The conference aims to bring together students, researchers and practitioners to exchange research and development in the fields of linguistics and speech, script and language processing. The Conference on Language and Technology series is an effort to promote the area of research, educate the masses and the decision making authorities to realize the importance of language and technology in this modern age of computers. The first conference of this series, CLT07 was organized by Peshawar University, followed by CLT09 hosted by NUCES, Lahore. The third conference CLT10 was organized by the National Language Authority (NLA), Islamabad, while CLT12, the fourth conference in this series was organized by Center for Language Engineering (CLE), Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science (KICS), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan and CLT14 was organized by DHA Suffa University (DSU), Karachi.

Center for Language Engineering (CLE) actively arranges and participates in seminars, workshops and conferences dedicated to promote language processing nationally and internationally. It is located in the HUAWEI UET Joint Telecom IT center (HUTIC) Building at University of Engineering and Technology UET, Lahore.
