Center for Language Engineering (CLE) is the first Advanced Technology Center at Al-Khawarizmi Institute of Computer Science, University of Engineering and Technology Lahore. CLE is primarily working in the areas of Computational Linguistics in Pakistan and developing Asia. Applications are being requested to fill the following vacancies:

Consultant (Part-time)	2	The candidate must have at least the following qualifications: PhD degree in computer science or equivalent One year of research and/or development experience OR MS degree (eighteen years of education) in Computer Science or equivalent Five years of research and/or development experience	Research experience relevant to system development focused on Urdu language processing Excellent analytical skills Good communication skills, preferably with research publication record
Senior Research Officer (Full-time)	1	The candidate must have the following qualifications: MS degree (eighteen years of education) in Computer Science or equivalent OR Bachelor’s degree (sixteen years of education) in computer science or equivalent Two years of research and/or development experience	Excellent software design skills Excellent software development skills in C++ and/or Java Prior work experience related to Urdu language processing Excellent analytical skills Good English communication skills, preferably with research publication record
Research Officer (Full-time)	4	The candidate must have the following qualifications: MS degree (eighteen years of education) in Computer Science or equivalent OR Bachelor’s degree (sixteen years of education) in computer science or equivalent Two years of research and/or development experience	Excellent software design skills Excellent software development skills in C++ and/or Java Prior work experience related to Urdu language processing Excellent analytical skills Good English communication skills, preferably with research publication record
Associate Research Officer (Full-time)	4	The candidate must have at least the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (sixteen years of education) or graduating in summer 2012 in Computer Science or equivalent	Experience in object oriented analysis and design Excellent analytical skills Excellent software development skills in C++ and/or Java Good English communication skills, preferably with research publication record
Content Developer (Full-time)	1	The candidate must have at least the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (sixteen years of education) in relevant field	Prior work experience Good English communication skills
Internees (Part-time/Full-time)	4	The candidates must have completed two years of education in a relevant degree.	Preference will be given to candidates who have read courses of computer graphics/computer vision/image processing.
Typist (Part-time)	2	The candidates must have at least 50 WPM Urdu typing speed.	The candidate must have professional experience in Urdu typing for at least one year.
Consultant (Pashto Language)	1	The candidate must have the following qualifications: PhD degree in Linguistics/Computational Linguistics Five years post PhD research work experience in relevant field	Excellent skills in Pashto Linguistics/ Computational Linguistics Excellent analytical skills Excellent English communication and English writing skills
Coordinator (Pashto Language Resources)	1	The candidate must have the following qualifications: M.A or equivalent degree Two years experience in corpus/ lexical resources development	Excellent skills in Linguistics/ Computational Linguistics Excellent analytical skills Excellent English communication and English writing skills
Transcriber (Part-time)	1	The candidates must have at least 50 WPM Pashto typing speed.	The candidate must have professional experience in Pashto typing for at least one year.
